How RYTZ uses artificial intelligence to provide legal information and educational intelligence

Last Updated: January 1, 2026
Version: 2.1

Important: This is Not Legal Advice

RYTZ uses artificial intelligence to provide legal information and educational intelligence only. We do not provide legal advice or practise law.

Before using our AI-powered platform, please read this disclosure carefully to understand how our AI works, its capabilities, limitations, and your rights.

1What You Need to Know

RYTZ uses artificial intelligence (AI) technology to help Australian families navigate family law matters. Our AI is designed as an educational tool to provide information and insights, not as a substitute for professional legal advice.

Key Points

  • AI provides information, not advice: Our AI explains legal processes, procedures, and concepts in plain language but does not tell you what decisions to make in your specific situation.
  • You are responsible for verification: You must independently review and verify all AI-generated content before relying on it.
  • No lawyer-client relationship: Using RYTZ's AI does not create a lawyer-client relationship or any form of legal representation.
  • Seek professional help when needed: We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified Australian solicitor for complex legal matters, high-stakes decisions, and court representation.

2How Our AI Works

RYTZ's AI is not a general-purpose chatbot. It is a specialised legal information system designed specifically for Australian family law. Here's how it works:

Closed, Curated Legal Corpus

Our AI is trained exclusively on a closed, curated corpus of Australian family law materials, including:

  • The Family Law Act 1975 and its associated regulations
  • Publicly available rules, procedures, and forms from the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
  • A curated library of relevant, publicly available Australian case law and legal precedents
  • State-specific family law provisions across all Australian jurisdictions

Knowledge Cut-Off Date: The information in our legal corpus is current as of October 24, 2025. Our AI may not include legal changes, new precedents, or regulatory updates established after this date.

Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) System

When you ask a question, our AI uses a process called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG):

  1. 1.Query Analysis: The AI analyses your question to understand what legal information you're seeking.
  2. 2.Retrieval: It searches our closed legal corpus to retrieve the most relevant sections of legislation, case law, and court rules (typically 10-20 relevant sections).
  3. 3.Ranking: These sections are ranked by relevance to ensure the most pertinent information is prioritised.
  4. 4.Response Generation: The AI generates a response based exclusively on these retrieved legal materials, incorporating citations and references within the natural flow of the answer.

This approach ensures our AI provides information grounded in real Australian law, not speculative or fabricated content.

Multi-Model AI Architecture

RYTZ uses multiple leading AI models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Our platform intelligently selects the most appropriate model based on the type of query and task:

  • Document analysis and information extraction
  • Natural language understanding and generation
  • Complex legal reasoning and explanation

This multi-model orchestration allows us to leverage the strengths of different AI systems while maintaining accuracy and reliability.

3What Our AI Does

RYTZ's AI is designed to empower you with legal information and educational intelligence. Here are the key capabilities:

Legal Information & Explanations

Explains legal procedures, processes, and concepts in plain language. Describes what court forms are needed and why. Provides general information about the Family Law Act and related legislation.

Document Intelligence

Guides you through court form completion with field-by-field assistance. Helps you understand what information is required and why. Provides validation against court requirements.

Evidence Organisation

Helps organise evidence and case information chronologically. Categorises uploaded evidence. Creates structured evidence portfolios with timelines.

General Legal Context

Describes what "most people" do in similar situations (general patterns, not personalised recommendations). Explains general case considerations and procedural options available under Australian law.

4What Our AI Cannot Do

IMPORTANT: Our AI is an educational tool, not a lawyer. It is designed to provide information, not to practise law. The following limitations are critical to understand:

Does Not Provide Legal Advice

Our AI provides general legal information only. It cannot and does not provide legal advice tailored to your specific circumstances. Legal advice requires the application of legal principles to your unique facts and situation—something only a qualified solicitor can provide.

Cannot Make Legal Decisions or Recommendations

Our AI cannot tell you whether to accept a settlement offer, what legal strategy to pursue, or what decisions to make in your case. It cannot recommend specific courses of action for your individual situation.

Cannot Predict Outcomes or Judge's Decisions

Our AI cannot predict how a judge will rule, the likely outcome of your case, or assess the strength of your legal position. Every case is unique and depends on factors beyond the scope of AI analysis.

Does Not Create a Lawyer-Client Relationship

Using RYTZ's AI does not establish a lawyer-client relationship, attorney-client privilege, or any form of legal representation. You remain a self-represented individual.

Does Not Replace Qualified Legal Representation

Our AI is a tool to assist with legal information and document preparation. It is not a substitute for a qualified Australian solicitor, especially in complex matters, high-stakes decisions, or court proceedings.

Cannot Advocate on Your Behalf

Our AI cannot represent you in court, negotiate on your behalf, or advocate for your interests. These activities require a licensed legal practitioner.

Does Not Guarantee Accuracy or Completeness

While we strive for accuracy, our AI may provide incomplete or incorrect information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any AI-generated content.

Limitations on Scope

Our AI is an educational tool designed to provide comprehensive coverage of Australian family law topics. However, the AI may not address every nuance of your specific situation and must not be used for:

  • Generating personalised legal strategy or tactical advice
  • Providing financial, tax, property valuation, or psychological advice
  • Any purpose where unverified information could lead to legal, financial, or personal harm

5AI Limitations and Risks

Transparency is central to responsible AI use. We openly acknowledge the following limitations and risks of our AI system:

Potential for Errors and Inaccuracies

AI systems can make mistakes. Our AI may:

  • Provide incorrect or incomplete information
  • Misinterpret your question or the legal context
  • Generate plausible-sounding but factually incorrect responses

Training Data Limitations

Our AI's knowledge is limited to the information in our legal corpus as of October 24, 2025. It may not include the latest legal changes, recent case law, regulatory updates, or amendments to legislation enacted after this date. You must independently verify that information is current before relying on it.

Lack of Human Nuance and Context

AI cannot understand complex human context, emotions, or the full nuance of your situation in the way a qualified solicitor can. Family law matters often involve sensitive issues that require human judgment, empathy, and discretion—qualities that AI systems do not possess.

Hallucination Risk

AI systems can occasionally generate fluent, confident-sounding information that is entirely fabricated or false (known as "hallucinations"). While our RAG system significantly reduces this risk by grounding responses in our verified legal corpus, the possibility of hallucinations cannot be entirely eliminated. This is why independent verification is essential.

Generalisation vs Personalisation

Our AI provides general information about legal processes and principles. It cannot assess the strength of your specific case, evaluate your unique circumstances, or provide guidance tailored to your individual facts. Every family law matter is different, and decisions must be made with professional legal advice specific to your situation.

6Your Responsibilities

As a user of RYTZ's AI-powered platform, you have important responsibilities to ensure you use the service safely and effectively:

Mandatory User Obligations

By using RYTZ's AI services, you agree that you will:

  • 1.Independently Verify All Information: You must carefully review and verify all AI-generated content before using it for any purpose. Do not rely solely on AI outputs for important legal decisions.
  • 2.Seek Professional Legal Advice: You must consult with a qualified Australian solicitor for complex legal matters, high-stakes decisions, situations involving domestic violence or child safety, and before making final legal decisions.
  • 3.Use AI as a Starting Point: You must treat AI-generated content as a starting point for your own research and understanding, not as a final answer or authoritative legal guidance.
  • 4.Accept Full Responsibility: You recognise and accept that you are solely responsible for all decisions made in your legal matter, regardless of any information provided by our AI.
  • 5.Verify Currency of Information: You must confirm that legal information is current and up-to-date, especially given our knowledge cut-off date of October 24, 2025.

Assumption of Risk

You assume all risk associated with your reliance on AI-generated content. RYTZ is not liable for any decisions you make based on information provided by our AI, or for any outcomes resulting from your use of our platform.

7Your Rights

As a user of RYTZ's AI services, you have specific rights regarding how our AI operates and how your data is processed. These rights are designed to give you control and transparency over your AI interactions.

Right to Human Review

Under Australia's Privacy Act 2025, you have the right to request human review of AI-generated outputs that may significantly affect your rights or interests.

How to Request Human Review:

  1. 1.Submit a support request through your RYTZ account identifying the specific AI output you wish to have reviewed.
  2. 2.Our support team will review your request and escalate it to our compliance team as appropriate.
  3. 3.A member of our team with specialised compliance training will review the AI output against our verified legal corpus within two (2) business days.
  4. 4.You will receive a response confirming whether the information is accurate based on our legal materials or identifying any errors.

Right to Report Errors and Provide Feedback

You can report AI errors or inaccuracies through our feedback portal. This helps us continuously improve the safety, accuracy, and quality of our AI system.

Feedback Process:

  • Click the "Report Error" button on the specific AI response
  • You'll be asked to consent to our compliance team reviewing your prompt and the AI's response
  • Your feedback creates a support ticket for internal review
  • If an error is confirmed, our engineering team will correct the source data with approval from our Head of Compliance
  • You'll be notified when the issue has been resolved

Right to Explanation

You have the right to request an explanation of how our AI generated a specific output. While our AI already references legal sources within its responses, you can request additional information about the retrieval process, the specific sections consulted, and the reasoning behind the response.

Right to Not Rely on AI Outputs

You always have the right to choose not to rely on AI-generated content. Our platform provides AI as a tool to assist you, but you are never required to accept or use AI outputs. You may seek professional legal advice at any time, and we actively encourage you to do so for complex or high-stakes matters.

8Data and Privacy

We take the privacy and security of your data seriously. This section explains how our AI processes your information and how we protect your privacy.

How AI Processes Your Inputs

When you interact with our AI:

  • Your prompts and questions are processed to understand your legal information needs
  • The AI retrieves relevant information from our closed legal corpus
  • Your conversation history is stored during your active subscription to provide continuity and personalised summaries
  • This data helps our AI understand your circumstances better so you can pick up where you left off

Zero-Training Policy

We do not use your personal data to train our AI models. Your prompts, questions, and case information are not incorporated into our general AI training data or shared with third-party AI providers for model training. This ensures your privacy is protected and your confidential information remains secure.

Data Retention and the 60-Day Reactivation Window

We retain your data to provide core platform features and to support your legal journey:

During Active Subscription:

Your chat histories, case summaries, evidence portfolios, and document data are stored securely to enable features like memory, continuity, and progress tracking. This ensures you can pick up where you left off without starting fresh each time.

After Cancellation - 60-Day Reactivation Window:

If you cancel your subscription, we offer a 60-day account reactivation window as a user-centric feature. Your account data will be securely held for 60 days to allow you to easily reactivate your account and resume your work without losing your progress.

Family law cases often stop and start due to court dates, financial constraints, or gathering evidence. This grace period respects your journey and ensures that when you return, your critical data is still available.

After 60 days: All of your personal data, including chat histories and evidence portfolios, will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems in line with our privacy obligations.

Immediate Deletion Option:

If you prefer, you can choose to cancel your subscription and delete all your data immediately. This option is available during the cancellation process for privacy-conscious users who want permanent deletion without the 60-day grace period.

Limits to Confidentiality

Important: Information you share with our AI is not protected by lawyer-client privilege. While we implement strong security measures to protect your data, the legal protections that apply to communications with your solicitor do not apply to your interactions with our AI.

Full Privacy Details

For comprehensive information about how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information, please review our , which includes our full disclosure on automated decision-making as required by the Privacy Act 2025.

9When to Seek Professional Legal Help

RYTZ's AI is designed to complement, not replace, professional legal representation. We strongly recommend consulting with a qualified Australian solicitor in the following situations:

Complex Legal Issues

If your family law matter involves complex legal questions, multiple jurisdictions, or intricate factual circumstances, seek professional legal advice. AI cannot navigate the nuances of complicated cases.

High-Stakes Decisions

For decisions that could significantly impact your children, finances, property, or parental rights, consult with a solicitor. The consequences of these decisions are too important to rely on AI-generated information alone.

Court Representation

If you need representation in court proceedings, you must engage a qualified solicitor or barrister. Our AI cannot represent you in court, present arguments on your behalf, or provide courtroom advocacy.

Legal Strategy and Tactics

When you need strategic legal advice about how to approach your case, what arguments to make, or tactical decisions about settlement negotiations, consult with a solicitor who can assess your specific circumstances.

Situations Involving Domestic Violence or Child Safety

If you or your children are in immediate danger, call 000 immediately.

For matters involving family violence, child abuse, or safety concerns, seek professional legal assistance urgently. These situations require specialist legal expertise, safety planning, and often urgent court intervention.

When You Don't Understand AI Guidance

If the AI's response is unclear, confusing, or contradictory, do not rely on it. Consult with a solicitor who can provide clear, understandable guidance specific to your situation.

Before Making Final Legal Decisions

Before submitting court documents, signing legal agreements, or making binding decisions in your family law matter, have a qualified solicitor review your position and the documents to ensure they protect your interests.

Finding Legal Assistance

If you need to find a family lawyer:

  • Law Society of your state or territory (lawyer referral services)
  • Legal Aid in your jurisdiction (for eligible individuals)
  • Community legal centres (free legal advice for those who qualify)
